welcome back to blogging... it's an interesting graphic - it looks like a vast expanse of sand that's covering something, but i don't know what - an ancient (or not so ancient) city perhaps... come on, now you have to tell otherwise i won't be able to stop wondering!!!
It looks like fresh fallen snow on a field.
It is in fact a field of snow - right before it was destroyed by the kids sledding!
