Wordless Wednesday

  1. Thanks for your comment on my record choices! I can understand your problem! To make matters worse for you if you were invited onto the radio programme "Desert Island Discs" (it is the second longest running radio programme in the world after the "Grand Ole Opry" and the longest running factual programme)you would also have to choose 1 luxury item to take with you (it cannot be in any way practical)plus a book of your choice (you are "given" the Bible and the Complete Works of Shakespeare so your book choice is in addition to these! To help you I copy below the most requested pieces of music:
    1. Beethoven: Symphony No. 9, last movement, Ode To Joy
    2. Schubert: Quintet in C second movement, Adagio
    3. Mozart: Cosi Fan Tutte, trio Soave Sia Il Vento
    4. Beethoven: Symphony No. 6, Pastoral
    5. Richard Strauss: Four Last Songs, Beim Schlafengehen
    6. Elgar: Pomp and Circumstance, March No 1
    7. Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue
    8. Mozart: Clarinet Concerto, second movement, Adagio
    9. Elgar: Cello concerto, first movement
    10. Richard Strauss: Der Rosenkavalier - trio Marie Therese Hab Mir's Gelobt

Now, that makes you feel better doesn't it!
I would definitely have number 1 in my list (if I was choosing classical pieces) plus (probably) numbers 3,8,9.
In popular music the Beatles far outstrip anything else.

I'm already looking forward to reading your list, Leann - have a good day!
